(Taylor Ramey)

McKay, M., Davis, M., & Fanning, P. (1997). Thoughts & feelings: taking control of your moods and your life (2nd ed.). Oakland, CA:      New Harbinger Publications.

This is one of the most recommended books when it comes to finding a way to change your attitude and perception of life.  The author focuses on teaching simple methods to help us out of situations when we find ourselves upset or angry or in any general unhealthy state of mind.  This books help us to identify the deepest root of our negative thoughts to change them as well as teach us to prioritize our lives and learn relaxation techniques.

McMullin, R. E., & Casey, W. W. (1975).Talk sense to yourself: a guide to cognitive restructuring therapy. Golden, Colo.: Counseling      Research Institute.

This book was written by a therapist in an attempt to further educate and help his clients on what cognitive restructuring is and how you are truly the only person that can change your thoughts.  This was the first actual book written that focuses on cognitive restructuring and it's health benefits.  It is created to help clients practice cognitive restructuring without having to attend actual therapy lessons.

McMullin, R. E. (2005). Taking out your mental trash: a consumer's guide to cognitive restructuring therapy. New York: W.W. Norton.

This book not only focuses on how to change our negative thoughts, but also what causes them in the first place.  It supplies the reader with real life examples of how cognitive restructuring can change your life and step by step instructions on how to accomplish it.  It also gives problems and exercises for the reader to complete in order to help make their transformation quicker and more complete.
